Divide your friends into two or more groups. Go
to a mall and give each group a scavenger list. The list should consist of 15
to 20 random items the groups are to take pictures
of using their cell phones such as: something that cost $3.99, 4 blondes,
someone over 6'3" in a salon chair, etc. Set a time
limit and a meeting place. Go to dinner, then have fun
after dinner sharing pictures.

Invite several friends over. Divide into two
groups and provide both groups with the identical
jigsaw puzzle. The group that finishes first or has
the most pieces in place at the specified time is
declared the winner and is treated to dessert by
the other group.
Get a group of friends together and divide into
groups of three or four. Each group needs a list of
things they must go find and a video camera to video
the event. For example, I spy a Blockbuster person
saying, "Hello." I spy a policeman giving my group
Miranda rights. I spy my group standing on their
heads in front of water. I spy a person from my
group wearing a fireman's hat. I spy my group up in
a tree. Return at a given time and have fun sharing
your videos with each other.
Divide your friends into two groups. Each group
will need a vehicle, rocking chair, and a video
camera. Give each group a set amount of time to
take their rocking chair to as many unusual
locations as possible. Videotape each location with
all of the group and the rocking chair. When the
two groups get back together, have fun sharing your
videos of your rocking experience.
Make a giant chocolate chip cookie in a pizza
pan. Decorate and wrap in clear plastic. Attach
ribbons and balloons. Leave it by your Valentine's
front door. Using a cell phone, tell him/her to go
look on their front porch. Sit in the car and watch
their expression.
Get a few friends together and go to your local
family video store and look through the "How to"
videos. Figure out something you would all like to
learn to do like Swing Dancing. Rent the video and
have fun learning something new!
Get a group of friends together and have each
person share four things about themselves. Three of
the situations should be true and one should be a
lie. Have everyone determine which are true and
which is the lie. This is a great way to get to
know people better.
You and one or two friends could borrow a couple
of children for a day. Have fun taking them to a
park to play. Have a picnic or go to McDonald's.
Fly kites. Feed the ducks. Play hopscotch,
hide-n-seek, or duck, duck, goose. You will be
amazed how much you learn about another person when
you spend time playing with little children.
Get two or three friends together at 9:00 a.m.
on a Saturday morning and spend the day playing
Monopoly. Stop for a picnic lunch in the backyard
or at a park. Return to the Monopoly game and take
a dinner break at a local fast food restaurant.
Return to the Monopoly game and play until 9:00
p.m. at which time you declare a winner. Conclude
the day by going out for dessert.
Get a group of friends together and make a video
of predictions of how the school year will go. For
example: How will your football and basketball team
do this year? Who will be homecoming queen and
valedictorian? Go beyond the scope of school and
predict who will win the world series and super
bowl. Who will win the presidential election? Get
back together at the end of the school year and see
how you did. It would also be fun to get back
together in 5 or 10 years and view the video.
Get a group of friends together and split up
into two or three groups. Allow each group a set
amount of time to find the perfect attire for lunch
by shopping at area garage sales. (They are easy to
find on Saturday mornings.) Everyone then meets at
a designated location (restaurant, park, etc.) for
lunch. Sit back, enjoy the meal, the funny stories
you will have to share, and the weird looks you
will get from those who see your group in your
creative attire.
Plan a surprise evening for a few of your best
friends. Keep them wondering what will be next on
the agenda all night. This might include dinner at
one location, dessert somewhere else, special
guests dropping in for a brief surprise appearance,
etc. Use your imagination. The more surprises the
more fun!
