Survey Results

1.5 million teens, parents and educators throughout America have heard the Aim For Success program since it began in 1993.

Aim For Success gives over 2,000 presentations a year. Ninety percent of these programs are in public schools across the country. At the conclusion of the programs students are given an opportunity to respond to an anonymous volunteer survey. The following information was taken from those surveys:

86% of the 15 -year-olds and younger have NOT had sex.
55% of the 16-year-olds and older have NOT had sex.
25% of the sexually active students indicated they now plan to wait for marriage for sex.
89% of the students learned something new from the program.

• Age 11 – “I was thinking of having sex, but now I will wait.”
• Age 12 – “This program changed my life forever.”
• Age 13 – “I’m a virgin. You made me feel special.”
• Age 14 – “I thought I would try sex, but not now.”
• Age 15 – “I was sexually active before. Now I’m going to wait until I get married.”
• Age 15 – “I have a baby. My boyfriend can’t get a job because he is 14. He tells me he wants to marry me, but he doesn’t act the way he did before I had sex with him.”
• Age 16 – “Your program just made me realize I am not alone in making the decision not to have sex.”
• Age 17 – “The choice to have sex was not my choice. Thanks for giving me my gift back.”
• Age 17 – “My boyfriend told me you can’t have a baby until you have sex five times. But I know now he’s a liar & a jerk.”
• Age 18 – “I was thinking that having sex in college next year would be okay. Well, I’m rethinking that. Thanks.”
• Age 18 – “I heard this presentation before and it has at least reached one person. That’s me!!! I have not had sex since.”
